Respray prices: Dublin Kitchen Respray, last reviewed September 2026, VAT not stated. DLD Kitchens: VAT not stated.
For comparison, a whole new made-to-measure kitchen costs €15,000 to €25,000 including VAT (The Home Upgrade Co.). A respray of a medium kitchen is less than a tenth of that.
DLD Kitchens says its door upgrade suits structurally sound kitchens. Open every press before you decide. If the carcasses are dry and square, the drawers run and the layout works for you, new paint or new doors will change the room for a fraction of the price. If the units are swollen near the sink or the dishwasher, the money is better spent on new units.
The age of the house helps. In Dublin 15, 52% of homes were built from 1991 to 2010, so many kitchens there are 16 to 35 years old, the age at which owners weigh a respray against new units (Dublin 15 figures).
A respray of your existing kitchen doors costs €700 to €3,000 in Dublin, depending on how many doors there are, and takes 1 to 3 days (Dublin Kitchen Respray). New made-to-measure doors, fitted, start from €3,799, and new doors with a laminate worktop, sink and taps from €4,995 (DLD Kitchens).
A makeover usually means new paint or new doors on the units you have: €700 to €3,000 for a respray at Dublin Kitchen Respray, or from €3,799 for new doors fitted at DLD Kitchens. A new kitchen costs €15,000 to €25,000 including VAT for comparison (The Home Upgrade Co.).
A respray is cheaper on every published Dublin price: €1,250 to €1,400 for a medium kitchen of 10 to 15 doors, against new doors from €3,799.
1 day for a small kitchen up to 10 doors, 1 to 2 days for 10 to 15 doors, 2 days for 15 to 20 doors and 2 to 3 days for a very large kitchen with an island, by Dublin Kitchen Respray's guide.
When the units themselves are failing: swollen carcasses, sagging shelves or drawers that won't run. DLD Kitchens says its door upgrade suits structurally sound kitchens. If the layout doesn't work, new doors won't fix it either.
