Kitchen questions in Dublin 8
How much does a kitchen renovation cost in Dublin 8?
There's no separate Dublin 8 price list: Dublin kitchen companies publish one price for the whole city. A made-to-measure kitchen costs €15,000 to €25,000 including VAT (The Home Upgrade Co.), a budget kitchen €5,000 to €10,000 fully installed (Aloco Kitchens), and a respray €700 to €3,000 (Dublin Kitchen Respray). Do I need planning permission for a kitchen extension in Dublin 8?
Not for a rear extension of up to 45 m², counting earlier extensions, that meets the conditions, including leaving 25 m² of private open space. Dublin 8 is in Dublin City Council's area, which applies the same national rules. If you need permission, the fee for a domestic extension is €34.
Can I renovate the kitchen in a Dublin 8 apartment?
Yes, but check your lease and the management company's house rules first. They can set when works happen and what you need permission for. A new kitchen on the same walls is the simplest job, because the plumbing and extraction stay where they are.
